At Elmridge Primary School, we are proud to have a curriculum which stimulates our children and enables them to develop into confident, understanding, global citizens with a love of learning and respect for each other and the world around them. Our curriculum is engaging, challenging and ambitious, encompassing and celebrating all curriculum areas, helping to ensure that our children develop the knowledge and skills they need to excel, and become high achieving citizens.
Our curriculum has been designed to encompass knowledge and understanding of the world in which we live, and also the events that have shaped it in the past to make it what it is today. The topics have been designed to complement and build on one another with clear progression and links so that in subsequent year groups, they will be able to explore concepts deeper, applying their knowledge in different contexts. Our curriculum is built upon three key threads which are weaved throughout all subjects and reflect the multi-cultural, ambitious community in which we serve.
Teachers send half termly newsletters out to parents, which include a break down of what is to be covered in each subject that half term and further information is also available on subject areas and on class pages on the website. If you require any further information or would like to find out more about the curriculum at Elmridge, please contact class teachers or the school office to arrange a meeting.
