Welcome to our Reception class page!

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Reception at Elmridge Primary School. We look forward to an exciting and successful year together!

SeeSaw is the online learning journal we use to share photos/videos and observations of your child in the early years.  Parents should all have received an activation QR code to your child's account.  Please activate your account if you have not done so already.  As well as staff posting updates, parents can post photos/videos/comments of your child to show their experiences, progress and achievements.

Class Information

Welcome to our Reception page. Children in Reception are aged between 4 and 5 and this year we have welcomed 30 children to Reception. We are so excited to get stuck into learning, throughout the year the children in Reception will be learning in a verity of ways in order to reach their learning objectives. There will be 6 topics this year: 'Who are my family, friends and world?' , 'What do my family and friend celebrate?' , 'What does the world around me look like?', 'What does the wider world look like?', 'How do things around me change?'  and 'How can I be my best self?'. During each term, children will get the opportunity to explore these topics through play, discussion, peer learning as well as whole class teaching.

Reception will have PE on Tuesdays and Thursdays this year, on these days please send your child into school in their PE kit as they will stay in it all day.

We will also be going to the library on Thursday so please ensure library books are returned to school every Thursday so they can be changed.
